Lightning-resistant composite post insulator
With the development of electric distribution line and insulation upgrade, the traditional insulation line cannot withstand the impact of lightning or inductive thunder directly due to its insufficient lightning resistance level, and line disconnection caused by lightning strike and explosion of ceramic insulator becomes another new challenge to electricity. FEG type lightning-resistant composite post insulator is a two-in-one product with new integrated structure. Its “blocking at first and unblocking later” design concept enhances the insulation performance and anti-pollution level, which can be applied to the insulation support of overhead line. It also prevents the line disconnection caused by lightning strike and explosion of ceramic insulator from happening, and reduces lightning trip-out rate. Its working theory is that when the lightning voltage exceeds the certain amount of insulation blockage, flash-over discharge will occur between the pull rod and steel base of the anti-lightning support, to form short circuit,then the connected power frequency arc will burn in the discharging gap to protect the guard wire from damage. When this product is applied in insulation line, it has puncturing power-on function. It is easy to install, as the insulation layer shall be kept to avoid water entering the core and corrosion, and alleviates the work load of the operators. Due to the integration of post insulator and anti-arc metal（equipotential）, it is free from the power supply load side impact(deviating from the supply side), and enhances outlook of the line, and greatly reduced the cost. The product can be divided into puncturing type and non-puncturing type(insulation surface stripped), and is mainly made up of insulation shield, aluminum alloy armour clamp, composite insulator, pull arc rod and lower steel base. It has reliable performance, small investment and remarkable yields, providing the electricity department with an economical and effective method to guard against the disconnection of overhead insulated conductor caused by lightning.
